She likes you too.
Campaigns – Andrew ‘Tev’ Smith
Hi guys!
I’m Tev (short for Andrew, don’t think about it too much), and I’m Oxjam Manchester’s lovely Campaigns and Brand Co-ordinator. Part of my role involves me ensuring all materials and resources we produce is “on brand” (meeting Oxjam’s brand guidelines). The far exciting part of my job is CAMPAIGNING.
Oxfam’s main campaign this year revolves around climate change, and how it’s affecting people HERE AND NOW. Hopefully you’ve seen Oxfam’s bods at all the major festivals painting people a lovely shade of blue with the message “Demand action until your blue in the face”. We’ve got a similar message – people are suffering and dying all over the world right now, and climate change is hitting the poorest people first and worst. Our government and our nation needs to be the leader in Climate Change policy, and when we come to the Copenhagen climate change summit in December (if you’ve not heard about it yet, be prepared to!) we need to make strong commitments that will help them.
Let’s sort it. When are where? HERE AND NOW. Yeah, get used to that.
Fundraising – Carmen Mclaughlin
Carmen is the raiser of fun and funds – she makes budgets sexy! Go on…you know you want to…give her…some money.
Events Logistics – Samantha Milnes
Sam’s been in the industry for years, having been a roadie for George Formby, she progressed up the chain and into the 60’s where she bedded every Beatle bar Ringo (the voice put her off). She then lost herself in the 70’s and found herself in the 80’s on a boat dancing with Simon Le Bon to Rio. The 90’s were a haze due to her spending way too much time in front of the Hacienda smoke machine in the late 80’s/early 90’s.
Today – she is bigger than ever acting as Event Logistics Coordinator for Oxjam Manchester Music Festival 2009. Do you want to put on an event? Know a great promoter? Are you in a band and want to play a national festival? Get in touch!
Music Event Organizer – Harriet Taggart
Harriet is the most recent addition to the Oxjam team. She’s a Psychology graduate from Sheffield University who enjoys skiing, Haribo, stupid jokes and Manchester life.
