SPEED dating is Oxjam Manchester’s first event for 2009, delivering the city a night of love, magic and misbehavior.

Visit Rain Bar on the 10th August at 8pm for an evening of live music from upcoming acoustic act The River Story, Oxjam Cocktails, bring your own Ipod DJing, fundraising, prizes and dating.

We hope to destroy stereotypical Speed Dating events and create an evening to meet friends and raise money for Oxfam’s Here and Now Climate Change Campaign.
Oxjam Manchester Music Festival 2009 is taking over the best venues in the Northern Quarter to bring you a diverse cultural festival on the 25th October.

Expect the best upcoming and established bands in Manchester, DJs, comedy, dance, theatre and art installations in Common, CUP, Matt and Phreds, Ruby Lounge, Odd, The Bay Horse, Apothecary, Bluu, TV 21s and many more.

Speed Dating is the first of many events running up to the Festival day that will be held in venues dotted around the city.

Sophie Bromley, Regional Manager for Oxjam Manchester 2009 said: “We’re inspiring local people to raise money by doing something different. This monthly event will bring people together for an interactive take on fundraising.”
