Our team have been working really hard to make sure we deliver the most unique and new creative talent in Manchester for our Northern Quarter festival on the 25th Of October.
We found that there’s not really been a festival yet that has really strictly showcased the most unique city-based artists – so that’s what we’re here for.
Oxjam Manchester have got an amazing list of bands and artists so far that will refresh your attitudes to city culture. We’ve already got established names on board and lots of creative collectives you might recognize, such as the Asparagus Next Left guys from the Star and Garter, the wonderful people behind Underachievers Please Try Harder, Mushaboom Folk, Comfortable On A Tightrope, Negotiationofspace art collective…etc etc.
We’ve been carefully collecting the best venues too – we’re so excited to have Moho, Nexus, Apotheca,Mint Lounge, Matt and Phreds, Night & Day, Odd, Common and the Northern already on board.
I’ve spoken to hundreds of people that have also told me there’s no space to find Manchester listings or uncover new bands online.
We’ve created a space on this website called ‘New Music’ that profiles all the artists involved in Oxjam Manchester 2009 and more.
Our Festival is a fundraising push with a difference. We really want to give our Manchester audience something different and connect with as many creative minds here to deliver a truly unique day.
We’re raising money for Oxfam’s Here and Now Climate Change Campaign – we work with the world’s poorest to help them deal with and adapt to the effects of climate change. We put pressure on our government to demand real and immediate change.
